The Volcanoes Baseball Academy is a comprehensive training program and state-of-the-art facility designed to elevate youth baseball development in the region.
The Academy features a unique, all-in-one venue where players can experience indoor batting cage time, outdoor artificial turf practice areas, team practices, and games — all at the same location. This groundbreaking setup eliminates the need for players and families to travel between multiple sites, creating a true baseball destination focused on skill-building and enjoyment.

Led by Pro Player & Development Expert Ricky Ward
At the helm of the Volcanoes Baseball Academy is Director Ricky Ward, bringing decades of high-level experience as both a former professional player and elite hitting instructor.
Ward played five seasons of professional minor league baseball before transitioning into coaching, where he spent 13 years working in player development for the San Francisco Giants organization. Renowned as one of professional baseball’s most respected hitting instructors, Ward now oversees all Academy operations, private instruction, clinics, and year-round player development.
His philosophy goes beyond mechanical training—focusing on developing complete athletes by building confidence, mastering fundamental skills, and preparing young players to reach the next level both on and off the field.

Tryouts
Tryouts for the Volcanoes Youth Baseball Academy are scheduled as follows. Players must attend at least one tryout session to be considered. Participants should bring their own equipment.
Monday, July 27
- 12U to 14U: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- 9U to 11U: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Sunday, August 2
- 9U to 11U: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- 12U to 14U: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Saturday, August 8
- 9U to 11U: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 12U to 14U: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Saturday, August 22 — Last Chance Tryout
- 10U-12U: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 13U-15U: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
- 16U-18U: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
